Internal Medicine
Internal medicine focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of injuries and diseases. An Internal Medicine physician, or Internist, treats older adolescents and adults. Internists provides comprehensive care with a broad knowledge of diseases, are experts in diagnosis, and promote wellness and preventive care. That includes both common and complex problems.
Just like family medicine, an internist treats most common medical issues, from sprains and strains to cancer or heart disease. They also provide health promotion and preventive care including recommended screenings and coordinating care with medical specialists.
All individuals need a ‘home base’ for their medical needs. Having an office where you are known and a physician you can trust to provide you with care is the utmost importance at GRMC. If you have a medical emergency, you’ll save a lot of time by knowing exactly where to turn.
