Infusion Therapy
Infusion therapy involves the administration of medication through a needle or catheter. It is prescribed when a patient’s condition is so severe that it cannot be treated effectively with oral medication. Infusion therapy is available for both hospitalized patients, as well as those who do not require hospitalization but need to receive treatments on a regular or infrequent basis.
Infusion therapy, commonly referred to as IV therapy, is when medications are given directly into a person’s vein. It offers a highly effective means of treating chronic illnesses as it delivers medications, antibiotics, and hydration directly into the bloodstream. This helps patients feel better faster because the body absorbs the treatment quickly.
